A NOTE ON SECURITY

June 9, 2012

Recently, we have received reports of theft and vandalism on our docks. In an attempt to curb this activity, we met with the park rangers to see what further security measures can be put in place.

MWCD rangers will be making more routine patrols in the dock area at Pleasant Hill Marina throughout the evening and night. Each officer has been provided a list of dockers and may request verification of dock ownership. If you or a guest is out on your boat after hours, keep in mind that rangers are patrolling the area more heavily and may stop to verify your dock ownership.

On-dock fishing will be strictly limited to dock owners. There are currently posted signs at the entrance to each dock saying that each dock is restricted to dock owners and guests only.

We are hopeful that these solutions will help stop this problem.

We ask that any suspicious behavior be reported. Anyone removing batteries from boats, loitering around the dock area or acting suspiciously should be reported immediately to a ranger or marina staff. If this happens while the marina is closed, call 911 and they will dispatch a park ranger or sheriff’s deputy.

We encourage you to take any valuables off of the boat and keep items like a gas tank and battery locked in place and stored inside the boat wherever possible.

We appreciate your business and look forward to a great summer on Pleasant Hill Lake!
